Exact engine and trim details have yet to be confirmed but the Fiesta will be fitted with the 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine seen in the current Focus, which, Ford claims, will render it the most economical car in its class.
New features will include Active City Stop, which automatically applies the brakes to avoid low speed accidents, the company?s existing Sync connectivity and voice activation system and an all-new system known as MyKey, which allows parents to set maximum speed and audio system limits for young drivers among other functions.
