[TweakTown] iOS 5.1 beta 3 teases iPad 3 code names, also mentions Facebook

Remember yesterday, we said that the iPad 3 rumors wouldn't stop, well, it hasn't even been 24 hours and there's yet another one. Today it has been reported that deep in iOS 5.1 beta 3, there are mentions of two next-generation iPad 3 code names, J1AP and J2AP, as well as ongoing references to Facebook.

What do the code names mean, exactly? Well, from previous DigiTimes reports, where iPad 3 code names J1 and J2 were mentioned, it could refer to Wi-Fi and cellular data versions of Apple's next-gen iPad. More interestingly, Facebook is being mentioned. iOS 4 was meant to include proper Facebook integration, but was dropped as Apple and Facebook couldn't reach and agreement. So this code is either pointing toward new integration in iOS with Facebook, or could be old, deserted code.
We'll have to wait for iOS 6 to see what Apple brings us, as for one, Facebook is simply too large to ignore, no matter your differences. Two, we know that the iPad 3 is eventually coming, Apple just don't like to announce things ahead of time.

Tornado leaves behind damage at Madison airport

MADISON, IN (WAVE) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado did hit the Madison Municipal Airport on Tuesday. Straight line winds of up to 95 mph hit a nearby business.??

"I didn't even know what was happening at first," said airport manager Hazel Wilkerson, who told us it all happened really fast. "I thought, ?oh, the window is going to come in,' so I made it underneath the counter here because I thought the glass was gonna come through."?

It felt like it lasted only seconds according to Ralph Rogers.?

"It was over so quick, I didn't have time to be scared, said Rogers, the airport assistant manager.?

When Wilkerson and Rogers looked out the window, they saw an airplane on its nose. They also found part of the airport building had damage to its roof, the pillars on the outside were left mangled, and the hanger doors were damaged.?

"It's kind of like it skipped from here, to here, and none of the other buildings were damaged," said Wilkerson. "When you start looking you think, ?geez, where did it go?'"?

It ended up hitting Clifty Engineering next.?

"As you can see here the roof peeled off like a tin can," said Shane Jackson of Clifty Engineering. "I saw everything fly by - insulation, tree limbs, metal."?

Jackson said this morning the employees that are normally on the second floor were luckily downstairs when the storm hit. The building suffered major damage.?

"The roof, concrete block, gas lines," said Jackson. "We had a gas leak for awhile."?

Siding from the back building was also peeled off. Insulation was scattered everywhere with part of the roof caught in a tree. Computer equipment has been saved and crews are already patching up the roof.?

"To heck with the building as long as no body us hurt that is all that matters," said Jackson.?

The National Weather Service says the tornado was 1/3 of a mile long, 60 yards wide, with maximum speeds of 85 miles per hour.?

There were no reports of any injuries.?

Trumka: I'm with Newt on Bain (Politico)

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka found one thing to agree with Newt Gingrich on: the attacks on Mitt Romney?s tenure at Bain Capital.

?I agree with some of the things Newt Gingrich says - not a lot, but some,? Trumka said on MSNBC?s ?Morning Joe,? continuing on to say that he thought Gingrich?s line of attack on Romney was fair game.

?I heard [host Joe Scarborough] say it?s going to backfire because of the attack on free enterprise. The question is what kind of free enterprise, and who does that free enterprise benefit?? Trumka said. ?If that kind of free enterprise only benefits the top percent, you?re going to see more of what you saw on the street.?

?It resonates with people? when you explain leveraged buyouts, said Trumka, asserting that 22 percent of the time, Bain?s buyouts failed.

The labor leader also said he thought President Barack Obama would be reelected, praising him for his efforts to restructure the car industry, pointing out that labor unions had no incentive to drive industries out of business.

?The president saved the car industry,? Trumka said. ?The autoworkers jumped in with Ford and Chrysler and with GM and said, look, ?let?s do a different deal?? it does us no good to kill the golden goose, because if the jobs are gone, we lose, we pay the price for that.?

Romney rivals fight for South Carolina coast (AP)

COLUMBIA, S.C. ? Call it the fight for the coast.

Mitt Romney's presidential challengers were to campaign up and down the South Carolina shoreline on Sunday as they worked to stymie the GOP front-runner one week before this state's pivotal GOP primary. The former Massachusetts governor was taking a rare day off the campaign trail ahead of a jam-packed week that includes a pair of debates ? one in Myrtle Beach on Monday and another in Charleston on Thursday.

The South Carolina coast is a heavily populated area that's home to many veterans, active military personnel, moderates and fiscal conservatives whose support Romney and his rivals are counting on as they work to cobble together the diverse voting coalition needed to win the state on Jan. 21.

Florida votes just 10 days later, putting pressure on Romney's opponents to dramatically shift the trajectory of the race over the next week.

Three of Romney's challengers ? former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Gov. Rick Perry ? were appearing on national Sunday morning talk shows before making the rounds of churches and prayer breakfasts. The state has a large segment of church-goers and candidates are trying to woo evangelicals who make up a significant number of GOP primary voters.

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman also was attending religious services, while another contender ? Texas Rep. Ron Paul ? was returning to the campaign trail for the first time since Wednesday. He has spent several days at home in Texas after his second-place finish in the New Hampshire primary last week. He was set to unveil what his campaign said was a big endorsement.

A week before the primary, polls show Romney leading as he works to capitalize on back-to-back victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, the first two states to hold contests in the march to the GOP nomination.

The stakes are high in South Carolina, a state that historically has voted for the Republican candidate who eventually won the party's nomination.
